A screen adaptation of the bestseller "The Rum Diary" with Johnny Depp - the first product of the famous American "dirty journalist" Hunter S. Thompson. Venue: Puerto Rico's tourist town San Juan. Time of action: in the middle 1950's. Heroes: Journalists of English-language newspaper "Daily News", drunken and stained wanderers with children's souls looking for a place under the sun in a deserted, impoverished country.
The Rum Diary movie will be released in 2010.
